ESL’s Services Division has announced a new electronic document storage and retrieval facility, DocumentMan, which has been developed in partnership with Humphreys Data Management Ltd (Humphreys), the document and digital archiving specialists.
DocumentMan is aimed at companies with large amounts of data who want a secure storage option and fast online retrieval of their information. It combines Humphreys’ document storage facility with a scanning service and hosted software solution devised by ESL to manage, index and control access to the data over a secure Internet link.
The DocumentMan service scans documents of all kinds, with image sizes from A5 up to A0. Documents can be scanned and manually indexed by either Humphreys or the customer. Alternatively, as part of the DocumentMan service, the system can be configured to allow documents to be automatically indexed using either Zonal OCR or ICR.
By subscribing to DocumentMan, the customer can choose their own viewing and retrieval methods, from using a web browser viewer or a TIFF viewer through to using Adobe Acrobat. DocumentMan allows the customer to set different access permissions for different users and a full data back-up facility is also provided.
DocumentMan is ideal for a wide range of companies, including public service organisations and those in the financial services, pharmaceutical, law, accountancy and customer services industries.
